CUPE Local 1978 represents employees at West Shore Parks & Recreation, who provide diverse and accessible recreation and leisure opportunities for residents of the greater West Shore area, including swimming, fitness, sports, and community events.
Where Our Members Work
Our members support community well-being by maintaining and operating facilities such as pools, exercise rooms, ice rinks, playing fields, a golf course, and more, while also ensuring accessible and inclusive programming for people of all ages and abilities.
A new collective agreement was reached in January 2024 and ratified by the membership on January 10, 2024. We are currently updating the collective agreement for distribution. In the meantime, please refer to the Memorandum of Settlement.
